Business Development Lead – Global Automation Services

Our Global Services Business is growing and transforming to establish Bühler as a services provider delivering customer success through a trusted and reliable partnership over the whole asset lifecycle. We are looking for a motivated and experienced Business Development Manager in Automation and Digital Services to be part of our journey.

Tasks

  • Lead the global program for automation services portfolio, which includes automation modernization, services agreements for automation systems, maintenance, and support services
  • Lead sales strategy definition including value proposition, defence strategy and deployment strategy
  • Define the future road map / campaigns for the program based on market potential analysis and establish budget in close alignment with the Business Units (BUs) and Regions
  • Support regional teams in eliminating hurdles to effectively sell, quote and execute automation services and modernization projects including creating & delivering of trainings
  • Coordinate process design and improvements and rollout for automation services and modernization business including interface to digital enabled services
  • Provide monthly sales forecast and opportunity pipeline tracking for dividual campaigns – support Sales & Operation Planning (S&OP)
  • Create synergies to optimize and harmonize the current product portfolio and projects for hardware, processes, and resources/costs, jointly with Product Managers in BUs and Regions
  • Support build-up of competencies in the regional organization for automation services, automation support and modernization capabilities

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or higher education with an engineering background in automation and/or product management
  • At least 5 years of experience in services, product management or similar role in business development
  • Positive, energizing, and convincing personality with the ability and drive to bring projects to success
  • Strong business development and problem-solving skills in an automation environment
  • Distinctive interpersonal skills, customer focus and strong entrepreneurial thinking
  • Strong analytical skills, structured approach and result orientation
  • Demonstrated capability to lead and communicate in matrix organization across multiple businesses and industries on a global scale
  • Effective and convincing communication, both verbally and in writing, fluent in English
  • Attention to detail, without losing focus on timelines, cost, and quality

Preferred qualifications

  • Operational experience in industrial services
  • Automation background and good understanding of digital systems / services
